Brimming with incredible ensembles and sparkling arias, the English National Opera brings Handel’s masterpiece Partenope to life at the London Coliseum.
Partenope follows a complicated love tale that involves Rosmira retaining her love for the man who jilted her, Arsace. Though Arsace is in love with Partenope and so are Emilio and Armindo. In order to win back the love of Arsace, Rosmira dresses up as a man to become another of Partenope’s suitors. And that’s before things get really complicated!
This Olivier Award-winning production by Christopher Alden has been described as “superb”, with baroque-specialists Christian Curnyn conducting a world-class cast. The incredible cast includes tenor Robert Murray, mezzo-soprano Patricia Bardon and former London Coliseum Harewood Artist Sarah Tynan.
