No Man’s Land

Starring Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart, Harold Pinter’s masterpiece No Man’s Land is showing at the Wyndham’s Theatre from September 8 until December 17, 2016.

No Man’s Land

Much-loved actors Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart reunite in Nobel Prize laureate Harold Pinter’s iconic No Man’s Land. Following its premiere at the National Theatre, the masterpiece was first performed at the Wyndham’s Theatre in 1975, starring Ralph Richardson and John Gielgud.

The plot is centred on two ageing writers, Hirst and Spooner, whose night of inebriation at a Hampstead pub and later Hirst’s stately home, turns into a revealing power game.

Part of a wider UK tour, this modern adaptation of No Man’s Land is directed by Sean Mathias and received great acclaim in New York, described as a “glowing revival” of an old masterpiece, and as an “irresistible celebration of two actors’ love affairs with their scripts.”
