Hello, America!!

If you are fascinated by the snazzy Hippie era of 1960’s America, then this is the show for you! Hair in Concert celebrates the Hippie counterculture with all its long-haired, barefoot, bell-bottomed, bearded, and fringed glory. It chronicles the journey of a group of youngsters, a ‘tribe’ as they were called, fuelled by spirited passion, dreams, and desires. Grappling with the fierce political turmoil of the era, the social upheavals, and most importantly, the fervor of youth, the tribe continues to interact with the audience in a musically supercharged conversation. The highlight of the play, however, was its enthralling rock music that brilliantly captured the essence of the era. The current production will reportedly feature almost all of the iconic musical numbers from the original, including Aquarius, Hashish, Coloured Spade, Good Morning, Starshine, Ain’t Got No, I Believe in Love, Walking In Space, I Got Life, We Are All One, and Hair. Their journey, which is more of a saga, examines the nuances of identity, community, racial conflict, global responsibility, and world peace. Even today, Hair remains surprisingly relevant as it set forth to explore what it truly means to be a youngster in an ever-changing world.
