The horrific tale

The Olivier nominated play enjoyed record-breaking runs at the Lyric Hammersmith, the Liverpool Playhouse and London’s Arts Theatre. Its popularity also led to its premiere in Germany, Canada, Australia, China and many others. The suspense is a major part of the experience. Therefore, knowing too much of the plot may spoil the shocking nature of the production.

All you need to know beforehand is that you will join Dr Goodman who is a Professor of Parapsychology. He will deliver a lecture on people who have experienced paranormal events in their lives. While this premise may sound uninteresting, be prepared to face shocking turns and twists, some of which will truly frighten even the bravest amongst you.

Creators Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman have effectively produced a riveting horror play combining the best offerings from theatres along with adrenalin-filled experience derived from the horror genre. The Ghost Stories play is so scary that children below 15 years are restricted from experiencing the show.

The talented cast behind the production

Most actors reprise their roles in this West End transfer. The cast includes talented theatre veterans, such as Simon Lipkin as the protagonist, Gary Cooper essaying Tony Matthews, Preston Nyman portraying Simon Rifkind and Richard Sutton as Mike Priddle.

Both creators, Dyson and Nyman, are well-known figures in the theatre and television scenes.  Dyson has written for Tracey Ullman’s Show, The Wrong Mans and many other critically acclaimed television series. Nyman, on the other hand, has plenty of acting chops apart from his direction and writing exploits. He has featured in popular shows including Peaky Blinders. His film roles include Severance, Dead Set, and Kick-Ass 2.

Other information to know

The show will enjoy a three-month run, starting in October 2019 and ending on January 4, 2020. The chilling Ghost Stories play has an official run time of one and a half hours with no interval in between. You can either catch the production during Tuesday and Saturday afternoons from 2.30 pm. Evening shows, on the other hand, run on all days of the week, except Sundays, at 7.30 pm.

Due to the shocking nature of the play, children below 15 years are restricted from attending. People with a nervous disposition should also reconsider attending this play.
