The Story Of Jamie
Jamie New is a 16-year-old boy living in Sheffield. But unlike others his age, Jamie is quite different. He has a secret dream of becoming a drag queen. However, it is not easy to follow. First of all, he must discover the confidence which will allow him to express his true self in front of the outside world. While Jamie is worried about what the future holds, he has faith and believes that he will, one day, become a drag sensation. His mother, Margaret, loves her child and supports him in every step of the way.
To keep him from getting hurt, she hides his father’s absence, which is a choice that could jeopardise her relationship with Jamie. His best friend, Pritti, also loves and supports him, who reassures him that by being different from the rest, he is the most beautiful. Through all the thick and thin, Jamie overcomes prejudice, defeating his bullies and finally embracing his inner queen, Mimi Me. It is time for him to take the spotlight, his dream.
