Highlights

  • After a critically-acclaimed show at the 2019 Edinburgh festival, this take on the dark side of modern life is one to watch!

Collapsible

Margaret Perry’s superhit play, Collapsible will undergo a transfer in February 2020, bringing it to the Bush Theatre in London’s West End. Those who have yet to catch this brilliant and thought-provoking stage production can book tickets for its one-month long run at the famous venue. Collapsible tickets are expected to sell out soon, especially after the play won The Origins Award for Outstanding New Work in 2019.

Facing the Harsher Realities of Life

Perry beautifully portrays the mindset of modern men and women, who in a bid to showcase their strength to others, hide their inner sufferings from themselves. The plot concerns a woman named Essie who has just lost her job. However, instead of being distraught with the situation, Essie is simply fine.

Essie’s girlfriend leaves her as well. Still, she seems fine. As the play progresses, Essie thinks that she does not want to live inside her mind any longer and still, her mind says that she is fine with her situation. As things start to fall apart around her, Essie is unable to confess to herself that she does not feel fine and, instead, needs help.

This story is a commentary on the state of the current world where people are told to keep it together. Presenting a strong front has become so popular that people are failing to recognise when someone around them is secretly harbouring depression or suicidal thoughts.

Although funny in its take, the stage production will force audiences to think. To experience this wonderful show, book your Collapsible tickets today.
