Will there be enough room on the broom for everyone? They’ll be room in the West End to catch the magical story of the witch and her friends as Room on the Broom arrives at the Lyric Theatre in November
The enchanting children’s story enthralls chidren and adults alike
This magical musical adapted from the best-selling book by Julia Donaldson spellbound young audiences and generated a string of five-star reviews during its smash-hit West End season in 2010.
“A high energy treat” wrote the Sunday Times, while The Guardian referred to the production as “An enjoyable and energetic hour performed by a genuinely engaging young cast.”
Prior to arriving at the West End this absorbing children’s musical was a sell-out at the Edinburgh Festival 2009, where it also crafted a string of five-star reviews.
Well now families have got the chance to fasten their seltbelts and join the affable witch and her gregarious cronies on the broomstick to embark on an enchanting ride in the West End.
‘Witch and chips’ for tea
It’s a simple story but one that never fails to capture the imagination of children. The poor old witch is flying happily along on her broomstick with her cat when the wind blows off her hat. As the pair struggle with the elements of the weather, a line of creatures lend a helping paw in return for a ride on the broomstick. But when the broomstick snaps and a hungry dragon appears wanting ‘witch and chips’ for his tea, who will save the witch?
Children – and grownups too – can clap along, laugh out loud and be mesmerised as songs, action and scary fun engulfs the auditorium.
A Tall Stories production
The stage adaptation of Room in the Broom is by Tall Stories, the theatre company behind the sell-out stage revision of The Gruffalo.
Room on the Broom will run at the Lyric Theatre from Wednesday 26 November 2014 – Sunday 11 January 2015. The performance is recommended for children aged three years and over.
