A dazzling cast is heading to the West End, performing in the forthcoming production of the iconic musical – 42nd Street
Sheena Easton will star at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 42nd Street
It has been confirmed that the Grammy Award-winning recording artist and actress Sheena Easton will play the role of the legendary Dorothy Brock in the new production of 42nd Street.
The acclaimed musician has sold more than 20 records globally and remains the only artist is history to have accomplished the remarkable achievement of having top five records on five major Billboard charts.
The performance will mark Easton’s debut on the West End stage.
The Scottish star will be joined by Tom Lister, best known for his portrayal of villain Carl King in Emmerdale. Lister will step into the shoes of Julian Marsh in the much-loved musical.
The role of Peggy Sawyer will be played by Clare Halse, who recently starred in the acclaimed production of Gypsy at the Savoy Theatre.
Further cast members of this highly-awaited new production of the iconic American musical, includes Jasna Icir as Maggie Jones, Norman Bowman as Pat Denning, Stuart Neal as Billy Lawlor, Graeme Henderson as Andy Lee, Chrisopher Howell as Bert Barry, Bruce Montague as Abner Dillon, Mark McKerracher as Mac/Doc/Thug, and Emma Caffrey as Annie.
The musical will be directed by three-time Tony Award nominated American director, author and producer, Mark Bramble.
The production will feature many classic songs, including ‘Dames’, ‘We’re in the Money’ and ‘Lullaby of Broadway.’
42nd Street is running at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane from April 4, 2017. Previews will be taking place from March 20, 2017.
