Written by Jim Steinman, Bat Out of Hell the Musical is set in a post-cataclysmic city, free from the mainland. The musical is a romantic adventure that explores the themes of passion, love and rebellious youth. The action follows Strat, the eternally-young leader of The Lost, who has fallen in love with Raven, the daughter of Falco, the autocratic ruler of Obsidian.
Obie Award-wining director Jay Scheib directs this fast-paced, rock n roll adventure, which rips through 20 classic Meat Loaf songs from the iconic Bat Out of Hell album.
The Coliseum auditorium can enjoy listening to classic Meat Loaf numbers performed on stage, including ‘I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That), ‘Dead Ringer for Lover’, ‘Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad’, ‘You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, and, of course, the legendary ‘Bat Out of Hell’, amongst other Meat Loaf masterpieces.
As well as the Bat Out of Hell classics, the award-winning Jim Steinman has incorporated two previously unreleased songs into the highly-awaited musical – ‘’What Part of My Body Hurts the Most’ and ‘Not Allowed to Love’.
Jim Steinman’s Bat Out of Hell – The Musical is set to run at the London Coliseum from 5 June, 2017, following previews at the Manchester Opera House.
