Your insider's guide to using www.ShowsInLondon.co.uk
Hopefully using the Shows in London website is easy, as it was built to be very intuitive and it was designed principally by non-technical people with very little patience. However, that’s what we think at Shows in London, so if you can make any suggestions to improve the buying experience we are always happy to receive your thoughts and ideas, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Listed on the home page is a selection of shows, which includes all the popular top London shows plus some of our favourite West End shows together with any new shows coming soon. If you can’t see what you are looking for, click on the orange button at the bottom that says TICKETS FOR ALL SHOWS, where you will find the full listing of tickets we sell.
By clicking on one of the show images or the show name it will take you to a more detailed summary all about that specific London show. Here there are also useful tips and reviews to help you make your mind up about which tickets to buy. In the right hand column there are details of the show, the theatre, nearest tube station, performance times and an overall seating plan. For more details of any of these you can click on the appropriate link - all links are in blue text.
From the specific show page, you can then enter your preferred date and party size, before clicking on the FIND TICKETS button, which will bring up the ticket availability and pricing information for the performances on the date you have chosen. Alternatively, you could also choose to leave the date selection as “any day” – this will take you to a monthly calendar view of performances with information on which dates there are tickets available for, and the prices that the tickets start from. This can help you compare difference dates and performances. Once you are happy with the date and performance time, click on “book”, you will then be taken to a list ticket prices available for your chosen date.
If you had already known which London show you were looking for, and when you want to go see the show, you could also use our quick-booking facility on the homepage. Simply select the show you’re after from the dropdown menu at the top of the page, enter the date you want to go and the number of people.
When you are at the “choose your seats” stage, you will be able to see the different price options and the seating areas that these relate to. There is a fully interactive seating plan which is very detailed - so you are able to see the individual areas of the theatre.
By clicking on “select”, you will then be presented with the actual seat numbers, or in some cases the best available option will be displayed. Best available are often upgrades to a higher price band and the availability is determined by just how busy the theatre is for a specific performance. In the best available scenario your seat numbers will be allocated and notified to you within 24 hours.
You can “accept” or “find alternatives” when presented with the seat numbers. However, it should be noted that the automated system does tend to offer the best available seats at the time of booking.
Once you have decided which type of ticket you are going to buy, you can proceed with the booking by clicking on “book”. We offer you additional products to book that you might be interested in doing during your stay in London – such as restaurant meals or sight-seeing tours.
Once you have selected all the tickets and extras you would like, you are taken to our payment page. You can then confirm your booking by inserting your credit card details through our secure Barclaycard system. We charge an £2 delivery charge which covers either posting the tickets out to you or delivering them to the theatre for your collection on the performance date just prior to the performance time in the event of a booking within seven days of the performance date.
There is also an optional cancellation protection policy at £2.50 per person, which covers you in the event of travel disruption or sickness. For full details of the policy go to our cancellation protection terms and conditions.
Once you’ve confirmed your payment and personal details, and the booking has been completed, we will send you an automated e-mail confirming your booking, along with details of the tickets and any additional important information. In the case of booking ‘best available’ seats, you will receive a further email, generally within 24 hours, with confirmed seat numbers.
