The show that will shower you with everything that you'd want from a musical

Following its critically acclaimed, sold-out run at Chichester Festival Theatre, Singin’ in the Rain has arrived at the Palace theatre.

The show is set in Hollywood in the roaring 20s, when the talking pictures are a new phenomenon for the silent movie stars to embrace. With all the charm, romance, comedy and tinsel town glamour of one of the world’s best-loved films, Jonathan Church’s brand new production features a fabulous score including the classics Good Morning, Make ‘em Laugh, Moses Supposes and the legendary Singin’ in the Rain.

Adam Cooper, Daniel Crossley and Scarlett Strallen are a joyous trio, enthusiastically taking on the roles made famous by Gene Kelly, Donald O’Connor and Debbie Reynolds. They lead a multitalented cast which also features Katherine Kingsley as the hilarious blonde bombshell Lina Lamont, Michael Brandon as the highly-strung studio boss trying to win Hollywood’s biggest prize - the first hit ‘talkie’ - and Sandra Dickinson as gossip columnist Dora Bailey.

This show has been hailed as the ultimate feel-good show that appeals to all generations of theatregoers. With stylish, soaring choreography from Andrew Wright and Simon Higlett’s sumptuous set design, Singin’ in the Rain will shower you with everything you could ever want in a hit West End musical! And if you are lucky to get seats near the front, you will need your macs!

"This show is definitely my new favourite musical. The cast are absolutely fantastic: Daniel Crossley gives a stand out performance as Cosmo, and Scarlett Strallen and Adam Cooper shine likewise as Kathy Seldon and Don Lockwood. If you’re after a feel-good show this is the one for you - from start to finish I was beaming ear to ear."

"I hadn’t watched the movie before, but still loved this production. The costumes and set evoke old-Hollywood glamour, and everyone knows the iconic rain dance scene. It’s a sweet story – you can’t help but find yourself rooting for their success!"
    - Nams

"I thought this was a great show. I was sat in the front area of the Stalls which is the splash area, and you do get warned that you will get wet. I had my poncho on that was given to me at the start of the show, and I loved sitting in these seats. I thought it was a great story that had me in giggles."
    - Susana

"Being sat in the front row I was a bit apprehensive that I would be completely drenched. However, I felt completely engrossed in the musical as I was so close to the stage. It was a magnificent performance, with catchy music and songs from the Gene Kelly film, and all the rain definitely brought it to life. I thoroughly enjoyed the show."

Michael Billington, The Guardian

"The title song is terrific. The brolly-brandishing Adam Cooper splashes about in the rain with infectiously childish glee. Indeed, the effect is so good that the whole cast repeats it at the curtain-call."

Charles Spencer, The Telegraph

"Kingsley’s ability to combine pathos with vicious malevolence strikes me as little short of miraculous, but then the whole show is something of a miracle, not least the spectacular staging of the title number which has the audience purring with pleasure and leaves those sitting near the stage very wet indeed. This is a night of sheer delight."
