Disney's The Lion King continues its promotional tour of the U.K. with a seven week run in Liverpool. It will be the largest show seen in Liverpool since Luis Suarez's dying swan act at Goodison in the Everton derby.

The Lion King is following in the footsteps of that other creature brought to life by Disney, Beauty and the Beast, which played at the Empire theatre 12 years ago. It is the longest theatrical run at the Empire since Chitty Chitty Bang Bang visited for nine weeks in 2006.
